If you choose a direct payment gateway for purchase, Shopify stores your credit card details. These are encrypted according to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your transaction data is stored only for the duration of the transaction. After completion, your transaction information is deleted.
All direct payment gateways follow PCI-DSS standards, which are managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
The PCI-DSS requirements are intended to ensure that our shop and its service providers process credit card information securely.
To obtain further information, you may also need to read Shopify’s terms of use or privacy policies.
Part 5 - Third-Party Services
Generally, the third parties we use collect, use, and share only the information necessary to provide the services offered to us.
However, some third parties, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies for the information we must provide to them for purchase-related transactions.
For these providers, we recommend reading their privacy policies to understand how they handle your personal information.
In particular, please note that some providers may be located in a legal area outside your location or ours, or in a different legal area than yours or ours. Therefore, your information, when you carry out a transaction with the services of a third party, may be subject to the laws of the legal area where the service provider or its facilities are located.
If you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party website or application, you are no longer bound by this privacy policy or the terms of use of our website.
